Consumers Using QR Codes Spend More

The Adobe 2013 Mobile Consumer Survey of 3,075 mobile users in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, and Germany has a few interesting statistic on QR Code usage. The survey found that 35% of men and 28% of women had scanned QR Codes in the past three months. Of those that scanned 37% were 18-29 year olds and 32 % were 30-49 year olds. After scanning the code 80% of respondents said they were presented with a mobile-optimized experience.

Consumers who are the earliest adopters of emerging technologies will also be the most valuable customers and this would appear to be true for QR Code users. Of those who reported using a QR Code in the past three months, 21% spent more than $500 on consumer products via their mobile device over the past year versus only 11% of those who did not report using QR Codes.
